The hosts - cheered on by a 20,000-strong partisan crowd at the Senayan Stadium - got off to a dream start courtesy of striker Patrich Wanggai's goal after just 45 seconds. The Young Lions then suffered another blow as forward Neil Vanu was sent off in the 22nd minute, with Titus Bonai taking advantage of the numerical advantage to double his side's lead 15 minutes later.
